Introduction to Ross Valley Youth Soccer Club

Ross Valley Soccer Club has supported boys and girls soccer in the in the Ross Valley since 1972. Our mission is to provide an instructional and competitive soccer program that enhances character, establishes a love for the game and develops talented, confident and conscientious soccer players who are successful both on and off the field.

Ross Valley Soccer teams are run by volunteer coaches, supplemented by professional trainers who work with teams during their weekly practices. Additional skills sessions are also offered throughout the year.

Ross Valley Soccer Club teams consist of players from Larkspur, Ross Valley, Greenbrae, Kentfield and San Anselmo and are formed through a blind draft aided by an assessment process, which takes into account each player’s ability, commitment, skills and passion for soccer.

Players under 10 years old play against other Ross Valley teams. Players on teams U12, U14 and U19 play against other teams from Ross Valley, Mill Valley, Tiburon, West Marin, San Rafael, San Anselmo and Dixie through the Marin Interleague Soccer Alliance:

Marin Interleague

The Soccer season starts in August and typically runs through October with a regular interleague season followed by a playoff tournament.

For Kindergarten through second grade boys and girls under the age of eight, Ross Recreation runs a terrific program supervised by Jean Marc Schaefer. For more details, please visit Ross Recreation.

Ross Recreation

Ross Recreation also sponsors a NextStep Soccer Academy with Dan Ferrando for ages 3 to 10 years. This program provides In depth soccer skill training and will help your child increase their abilities no matter what level they are now playing.

Once again, we will be using a "Blind Draft" to pick all teams. This type of draft keeps the teams balanced and is mandated by our Central Marin League Board. You will be contacted by August 1st with details on your child's team and coach's name.

This year we especially need parents to coach, assist in coaching, and referee. Remember, this is "our" community club, and the only way to guarantee success and ensure fun for our kids is to volunteer. We look forward to seeing your child and you out on the soccer field soon!

See you on the pitch,

Chris Livermore - President

Paris Royo - Commissioner

Volunteers

Ross Valley Youth Soccer is a volunteer organization. We need all parents to volunteer your talents to make this a successful season for our children. Let us know if you are interested in being a coach or assistant coach.
